Effects of castration of male Morkhoz kids on quality characteristics of biceps femoris muscle and tissues composition of thigh were studied based on a completely randomized design (2 treatments and 4 replicates). Sixteen males were fed for 119 days and kids in the second treatment were castrated one week prior to the adaptation period. Results showed that muscularity in the femur region was significantly higher in the control (intact) group (P<0.05). Morkhoz kids castration decreased moisture and increased fat percentages (P<0.05). Castration significantly increased palmitic acid percentage and declined total desirable fatty acids percentage and (C18:0+C18:1)/C16:0 ratio in intramuscular fat of the biceps femoris muscle (P<0.05). Results showed that Morkhoz kids castration, with respect to the amount and composition of fatty acids, wouldn’t be compatible with human health.

The digestibility and fermentation parameters of the diets containing leaf, pod and seed of the Subabul tree in sheep was determined by using two steps digestion and gas production (GP) methods. The experimental diets consisted of 0.0 (control), 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent of the leaf, pod and seed of the Subabul tree that were replaced with alfalfa in diets of sheep. Diets containing 50 percent seed of the Subabul had higher GP compared to the control diet (P<0.05). The highest true digestibility of organic matter in Subabul leaf was belonged to diet contains 100 percent leaf. The diet contain 100 percent had the highest partitioning factor (PF) and microbial biomass efficiency (P<0.05) compared to other levels of the Subabul pod. The digestibility of DM, NDF and ADF of diets contain the pod of the Subabul tree for all levels were less than control (P<0.05). There are no significant differences between digestibilities of NDF and ADF of diets contain up to 75 percent the leaf of the Subabul tree and others diets. Digestibility of DM, NDF and ADF was more than control diet (P<0.05) by increasing the amount of the seed of the Subabul tree in the diets (75 and 100 percent of the seed of the Subabul). According to the results, the leaf and seed of the Subabul can be replaced up to 100 percent with alfalfa in the diets of sheep without any negative effect on fermentation and digestion. The nutritional value of sheep diets can be improved by replacing the alfallfa with Subabul tree seeds.

This study was conducted to determine the nutritional value of seaweed Gracilariopsis persica and to evaluate its utilization in layer nutrition. Metabolizable Energy and chemical composition of seaweed were measured. 100 Hy-line W-36 hens were allocated to five dietary groups with five treatment group (experimental diets containing zero, five, 10, 15 and 20 percent seaweed) and it lasted for 12 weeks. Egg production, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, egg weight and egg mass were measured weekly. The results showed that the CP, CF, EE, Ca and P of the seaweed were 23.05, 7.2, 0.1, 0.9 and 0.34 percent, respectively. Apparent Metabolizable Energy and Apparent Metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen were 2185.04 and 2195.72 Kcal/Kg, respectively. The treatments contain more than five percent seaweed, decreased egg production and increased feed conversion ratio (P< 0.05). There was significant decrease in egg mass for more than 10 percent seaweed treatments (P< 0.05). These results showed that usage of five percent seaweed Gracilariopsis persica in the layer hens' diet doesn't have negative effect on production performances.

Cows fed Vicia ervilia seed at the rate of 0%, 7% and 14%, DM of dietary, which replaced with Soya been meal and barely. Vicia ervilia (VE) contain approximately: 93.93% DM, 22.8% CP, 5.95% Ash, 3.02% EE, 63% NFE, 5.23% CF, 15.01% NDF and 6.13% ADF. The effective ruminal degradability of CP and DM of VE amounted to 74.76% and 70.57% respectively. Milk production increased in 14% group compared with control (P< 0.05). The values of urea nitrogen in treated cows were significantly increased (P< 0.05). The result of this study indicated that the Vicia ervilia can be used as a protein source replaced with Soya been at the 14% level in dairy cows ration during lactation period after partition.
